It’s back to back premierships for the mighty Ballina Seagulls after winning today’s Grand Final against the Byron Bay Devils 17-6.
The Seagulls were on the back foot early in the match when the Devils put first points on the board through a short kick which ended in a try. The Seagulls first points were through a penalty goal to Andrew Battese which was quickly followed up with a try to Clarence Kelly to put them in the lead 8-6. The Seagulls continued to put on points through 2 converted penalty goals, a field goal and a try to Liam Anderson to go to the half time break 17-6.
The second half was a tough grind with some outstanding defence by the Seagulls which resulted in neither side being able to put on any points and at the full time siren the score remained 17-6. Andrew Battese was named player of the match.
